NetBSD/prep Supported Hardware
The minimal configuration for a NetBSD/prep system requires 16M of RAM and about 100M of disk space. For a full installation (including source and X11), at least 32M of RAM and 200M of disk space are recommended.
Supported system models include:
- IBM 6015 (40P)
 - IBM 6040 (ThinkPad 820)
 - IBM 6050, 6070 (Power Series 830, 850)
 - IBM 7248 (43P/100, 43P/120, 43P/133)
 - IBM 7043 (43P-140)
 - IBM 7024 (E20 and E30)
 - IBM 7025 (F30 and F40)
 - Motorola Powerstack E1
 - Motorola Ultra 603 and Ultra Plus (Bull ESTRELLA 200)
 - Motorola MTX604 series machines
 
Devices for which support does not exist are:
- Secondary PCI bridge on F40.
 - SMP
 
Except for those specifically listed above, devices (driver names in parenthesis) supported by NetBSD/prep include:
- Machine-independent drivers for ISA devices
 - Machine-independent drivers for EISA devices
 - Machine-independent drivers for PCI devices
 - Machine-independent drivers for PCMCIA devices
 - Machine-independent drivers for SCSI devices.
 - Machine-independent drivers for USB devices
 - Machine-independent drivers for MII devices (IEEE 802.3 Media Independent Interface, typically used for physical media interfaces for FastEthernet controllers)
 - The PC speaker (pcppi)
 - PS/2 mouse (pms)
 - Joysticks on game ports (joy)
 - VGA and SVGA Display Adapters (wscons). Note: presently only text mode is supported.
