with lid closed (Re: radeon multi-head problem (Re: VGA output on macppc))

実は件の David Lebel という人に、あれから何か分った ? と聞いたのですが、
  ふたをとじて boot すれば、外側が使えるよ、
  1600x1200 まで使える。でもそれ以上のことは出来ないし、分らない
という返事をもらいました。
でやって見たら、確かに OF は外側に出て来るのですが、その時は
640x480 8bp で、
startx すると、次のように起動しませんでした。

Fatal server error:
xf86MapVidMem: could not mmap screen [s=20000,a=a0000] (Invalid argument)

When reporting a problem related to a server crash, please send
the full server output, not just the last messages.
This can be found in the log file "/var/log/XFree86.0.log".
